私の故郷、奈良では文化財に対する防火意識が高いです。それは、1月26日が文化財防火デーに指定されているからでしょう。1949年（昭和24年）1月26日早朝、現存する世界最古の木造建造物である法隆寺で火災発生し、壁画の大半を焼失したことに起因するようです。ロサンゼルスや広島の山火事が続きました。乾燥して北風が吹き付けるこの時期、火の始末には気をつけましょう。
