善通寺にある74番札所の甲山寺が国の史跡に追加指定されるというニュースを見ました。県内で国の史跡に登録されているお遍路の寺は、善通寺と志度寺だけで、3つ目の指定に入ったことになります。四国遍路文化が景観として残っていることが評価されたそうです。綺麗に整備された境内だけでなく、全体の歴史も感じることで、その奥深さを知ることが大事です。
